His movie ‘Peace One Day’ changed my life this September in Afghanistan. It is a journey of one man’s vision to create one day of peace, a day of ceasefire, a day where combatants from both sides lay their guns down and allow one day where people in conflict-stricken countries can live without a fear of their life. That one day of peace has allowed UN Aid Workers to travel into areas torn by warfare in order to vaccinate children, to distribute food supplies, to provide medical aid and humanitarian assistance that could never be provided because of war and insecurity that threaten the lives of aid workers.
I was in Afghanistan on Peace Day. It was INSPIRING.
I was with Aschiana’s children; and when the children ask for peace, you know they’re asking for something that means so much to them; to live without fear and insecurity is so important to them. That day, The Taliban and Nato/ISAF forces agreed a ceasefire for an entire day. It was incredible. IT WAS Really incredible what difference it made. I have attached some pictures of the children on Peace Day.
I recommend this DVD TO EVERYONE. It changed my life. It changed the way I operated and it will move you; move you soooo soooo much. You will be so touched, and so inspired by what impact one vision can create.
